Over the years, the skin stretches and wrinkles around the eyes, even with proper care and enough sleep. The fat around the eyes extends forward, leading to bags under the eyes; and in the upper eyelids, this leads to sad or sleepy eyes.
Excessive exposure to the sun, alcohol, tobacco, poor diet, and lack of sunscreen can accelerate these signs of aging.
